Al-Zubair wins the Arab Volunteer Work Award from the Arab Volunteer Union



The Arab Volunteer Union awarded the Arab Volunteer Work Award to Khalid bin Mohammed Al Zubair, Chairman of Oman Olympic Committee (OOC), during the closing ceremony of the 13th edition of the Sheikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa Award for Volunteer Work, which was held last Thursday in the Kingdom of Bahrain, organized by the Good Word Society and the Arab Volunteer Union to honor pioneer volunteers work in the Arab world in recognition of their prominent and distinguished contributions to humanitarian work. In addition to their great role in promoting the culture of volunteer work, as the ceremony witnessed the honoring of 15 prominent figures who are pioneers of volunteer work in the Arab world. This award is celebrated in September of each year in conjunction with the Arab Volunteer Day celebrations, as it aims to spread and enhance the culture of volunteer work and stimulate creative initiatives and distinctive volunteer experiences in the Arab world, in addition to highlighting the honorable models of volunteer work leaders in the Arab world and Inspiring success stories for the younger generation and putting their experiences and projects in the spotlight among volunteers from all Arab countries.


On the other hand, His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, Chairman of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, received Khalid Al-Zubair, OOC Chairman. During this meeting, the discussion focused on the strong fraternal relations that bind the two brotherly countries in various fields. Especially in the sports field, in addition to discussing strengthening bilateral cooperation between OOC and the Bahrain Olympic Committee through exchanging expertise and experiences and opening horizons for joint cooperation to serve the Olympic movement in both countries.


Khalid bin Mohammed Al Zubair also met with His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and Vice-Chairman of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, where His Highness welcomed Khalid Al Zubair, stressing the depth of the deep-rooted fraternal relations that unite Oman and the Kingdom of Bahrain, and praising Al Zubair’s efforts in strengthening and advancing sports work. As well as enhancing community awareness of the importance of sports.
