OOC participates in OCA GA

 

 

Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) participated in the 40th General Assembly (GA) of Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), which was held in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, today, Sunday, in the presence of representatives of 30 Asian NOCs, while representatives of the other 14 committees presents the meeting online due to travel restrictions. and health protocols.

The delegation was headed by Sayyid Khalid bin Hamad Al Busaidi, OOC President, and Taha bin Sulaiman Al Kishry, OOC Secretary General- member of OCA Executive Office, who participated in the meeting of the Executive Office held yesterday in Dubai.

The meeting witnessed visual presentations by the organizing committees of the next four Asian Games: Hangzhou 2022, Aichi – Nagoya 2026, Doha 2030, and Riyadh 2034. The latest developments of other courses organized by OCA which is the Asian Youth Games, Thailand, were also reviewed, which will be held from November 17-26, 2023, and the Asian Games for Futsal and Martial Arts in China, in addition to the Organizing Committee of the 4th Asian Youth Games to be held in Tashkent in Uzbekistan in 2025.

The attendees reviewed the work reports of OCA permanent committees, and called on Her Excellency Sheikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, President of OCA Sports and Women Committee to change the name of the committee to Gender Equality Committee, and asked NOCs to focus on developing the base of women’s participation in sports and not only on Elite women.
