The Elections Committee Issues Circular No. (1/2021)

On December 30, 2021, the Elections Committee issued a circular to all addressees of the provisions of the articles of statute of Oman Olympic Committee (OOC). The circular includes a detailed statement of the timetable for the conduct of the electoral process for OOC Board of Directors for the electoral cycle (2020+1-2024), and the conditions for candidacy for membership of the Board in accordance with Article 39) of OOC statute and Article (4) of the election regulations, and the components of the Board in accordance with Article (35), as well as the mechanism for submitting nominations and the required documents.

In the circular, the Elections Committee noted the necessity of adhering to the dates specified in the circular, noting that no candidate’s application will be accepted after the specified period is expired.

The Elections Committee has set the date for opening candidacy for the Board membership for the electoral cycle (2020+1-2024) to be from the morning of Tuesday, January 4, 2022, until 14:30 on Tuesday, January 11, 2022.

It is worth noting that the Ordinary General Assembly, held on December 27, 2021, approved the date for electing OOC Board of Directors on February 28, 2022. At the same meeting, the committees supervising the electoral process were also approved.
