OOC is keen to organize the Olympic Day in the various governorates of Oman, which is the approach that the Board of Directors always seeks to achieve by involving all citizens and residents of Oman in the activities of this day, Dhofar Governorate, Al Dhahirah Governorate, Al Batinah North Governorate, and Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.

The importance of this event lies in its embodiment of the concept of Olympic activity, the promotion of Olympic values, and the transmission of an educational and cultural message to the community about the many benefits achieved by practicing sports, whether on a personal or societal level, and making it a priority in their public life, not only in the competitive field, as well as encouraging and supporting programs that aim to Mixing sports with culture and education.

It is worth mentioning that the Olympic Day falls on the twenty-third of June of each year, which is the anniversary of the founding of the International Olympic Committee. The Olympic Day was celebrated for the first time in 1948. It encourages NOCs to adopt sports, cultural, and educational initiatives such as sport as an important supporter of social issues that affect societies such as education, health promotion, disease control, encouragement and support for women’s participation in sports, environmental preservation, peace and community development.
