Discussion Session “Development of Women’s Sports in Oman”

 

 

On November 23, 2020, OOC represented by Oman Women’s Sports Committee organized a descusion session entitled “Development of Women’s Sports in Oman” at Oman Olympic Academy within the framework of the committee’s endeavor to promote women’s sport and improve its participation in various forums by developing effective strategic programs and plans.

The session included 3 enriching themes, where Sayyida Sana bint Hamad Al Busaidia – President of Oman Women’s Sports Committee and Saada Bint Salem Al Ismaileya – Vice Chairperson of the Committee presented the first axis with its two parts “Promoting Competitive Women’s Sport” and “The Relationship of Oman Women’s Sports Committee with Federations and Sports Clubs.”.

The second axis was presented by Fatima Bint Ibrahim Al-Fazariya, a sports activity specialist in North Al-Batinah Education – Chairman of the Board of Directors of the evening lamps company for organizing events and conferences, where she touched on the management of events and conferences and its role in developing women’s sport and creating a women sports community that practices sports.

As for the last axis, it was presented by Leila Bint Khalfan Al-Rajibi – a journalist in Al-Watan newspaper, during which she spoke about the women’s sports media and the qualitative shift that she witnessed in various media fields, the role they play in the championships and activities of women’s sport, the challenges and obstacles that exist and the mechanisms to overcome them.

The dialogue session was concluded with the opening of discussion and the presentation of opinions and proposals with the attendees.
