Qualification for the strongest man in the GCC championship

 

Oman Olympic Committee (OOC), represented by Oman Sport and Active Society Committee, organized on March 7, 2020 at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bousher the qualification for the GCC Strongest Man Championship in its first edition within the framework of coordination with the Bahrain Olympic Committee and OOC for Weight Lifting and Physical Strength, with the participation of a number of bodies represented In the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, the Royal Oman Police and Muscat Municipality, in addition to a number of cooperating companies.

Through this sport events, the GCC National Olympic Committees aimed to continue efforts to form platforms that embrace the GCC youth practicing sports, especially bodybuilding and physical fitness and to support and encourage them to participate in a way that contributes to unleashing the sporting energies and capabilities that would show the youths’ high potential is reflected in the development and advancement of this type of sports. Such tournaments contribute to the consolidation of relations between the participants and enhance cooperation between people of the region.

The number of approved games for the qualification reached 3 games (the torso lifting game, the farmer’s walking game, and the car lifting game). 18 players participated in the competitions, and the first three winners were chosen to participate in the final qualifications in Bahrain.
