Oman Participation continues at the Islamic Solidarity Games

 

 

Konya: Oman national  shooting team for trap (dish shooting) presented positive results, despite not qualifying for the final in the preliminary qualifiers of the competition, within the competitions of the fifth edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games، which held in Konya, from 9 to 18 August, where the shooters achieved Good numbers compared to the strength of the competition with the presence of  elites shooters from 21 countries.

 

In the competitions (men), the shooter Hussein al Shahoumi ranked 16th  place with 116 dishes out of 125, while the shooter Abdullah al Mandhari ranked 22nd  place with 113 dishes out of 125, while the shooter Salim al Nasiri ranked 23rd  place with 112 dishes out of 125. In the girle competitions, Reem al Hosanieh ranked 11th place with 111 dishes out of 125, while Fakhriya al Jahafia ranked 13th with 107 points out of 125.

 

Friday, the trap team will compete in the mixed competitions (men and girls), it will continue until 16 of August, where our national shooting team will represent by  Hussein al Shahoumi and Reem al Hosani.

 

Oman national weightlifting team confirmed its readiness to compete in the competitions, through training sessions in Tuyap Hall today. The team consists of coach Mazen al Badri, and Elias Al Busaidi in the weight of 67 kg will participate on Saturday, while Amer al Khanjari will participate on August 14, in the weight of 89 kg. On the other hand, the Omani international referee Yousef al Hasani will participate in the weightlifting competitions.

 

As for Oman national cycling team will participate on Saturday in the cycling competition, from August 11 to14, and 105 cyclists from 16 countries. Where the team includes, the Coach Muhammad Walid Zamani, assistant coach Ali bin Khamis al Ankoudi, Samuel Kattambay, a mechanic, the cyclists Saeed bin Ibrahim al Rahbi, Muhammad bin Ahmed al Wahaibi, Abdul Rahman bin Marhoon al Yaqoubi, Mazen bin Saeed al Riyami and Munther bin Abdullah al Hasani.

 

On the other hand, Thursday, Oman national swimming team arrived in Konya to participate from 13 to 17 August, with 220 swimmers from 35 countries. The team consists of the chief Saeed al Matroushi,  the coach Mohammed al Khiari, the swimmers Issa al Adawi, Nasser al Kindi and Muhannad Awlad Thani.
