OOA becomes a member of IOA

 

Within the goals for which Oman Olympic Academy (OOA) was established to support athletes and qualify staff in sports institutions, OOA officially joined the membership of International Olympic Academy (IOA) in an important step to benefit from the support provided by IOA and the international programs offered.

The number of National Olympic Academies in IOA is 151 academies. The integral part of IOA is an essential tool in the performance of its mission and course of action to serve as the leading institution of Olympic education, as well as, promoting it as a way of life and integrating Olympic values ​​into modern societies around the world.

The programs offered by IOA, which Olympic academies around the world can benefit from, vary, and include a master’s degree program in Olympic Studies, Olympic Education, and Olympic Events Organization and Management. It aims to qualify competencies to promote and develop Olympic education programs, in addition to a number of international seminars and courses on Olympic studies, Youth Olympic Games ambassadors, physical education courses for university professors, sports journalists, Olympic medalists, courses on sports, society and culture. The programs also include visits to IOA from member national Olympic committees and academies, a group of conferences and educational visits, and the Youth Symposium on World Cultural Heritage organized annually by the Greek Cultural and Educational Club of UNESCO.

It is worth noting that OOA has organized, since its inception, 19 training courses with the participation of more than 300 staff in sports institutions in many fields represented in sports law, advanced sports management diploma, sports training, sports media, sports event management, Olympic education, and rehabilitation,  disabilities in sports institutions, and others.
