OOC Chairman meets sailors participating in the qualifications for the Olympic Games 2021 Tokyo

 

 

Sayyid Khalid bin Hamed Al Busaidi, Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) Chairman, met today in October 21 with the sailing Olympic team which will participate in the final qualifications of the Olympic Games Tokyo 2021 in the 49 sailing competitions, during his visit to the headquarters of the Oman Sail, in the presence of Dr. Khamis bin Salem Al Jabri, executive director and the technical and administrative staff supervising the team. OOC Chairman was briefed on the training program that the team is going through before heading to Abu Dhabi to compete in the decisive and qualifying tournament for the Olympic Games, which will be held in February next after it was postponed, which was scheduled to be held last March, but was postponed because of “Covid-19”.

He praised the great efforts they made during the period of preparation and qualification for the decisive round of qualifications, stressing that OOC will support the team and contribute to providing some capabilities so that it can qualify for the Olympic Games deservedly.

He also urged the sailors to do their utmost and work according to the training program prepared for them by the training staff so that they are fully prepared before entering the qualifications.

After that, he reviewed the boats used in the Asian qualifications, which will be used in the Olympic Games, where he listened to a detailed explanation of the components of the boat and other matters.
