The psychological and physiological assessment course before returning to training organized by Oman Olympic Academy “remotely” within its approved agenda for 2020, in cooperation with Sultan Qaboos University.
The importance of this course is to ensure the player’s psychological and physical readiness before returning to training, especially after stopping training for long time due to the “Covid 19” pandemic.
The course aims to talk about the psychological and mental preparation of the player to return to training and deal with precautionary measures, and to know how to prepare the training environment to protect the players, and the effect of stopping the training on the functions of body systems. The course also aims to familiarize players with the basic principles of sports training, and to evaluate physical abilities after a break from training.
Dr. Majid bin Saeed Al-Busafi (Senior Lecturer) from the Department of Physical Education at Sultan Qaboos University, and Dr. Radwan Al-Sassi and Dr. Ali Al-Yarabi (associate lecturers) from the same department lectures in the course, and the course targets athletes, coaches in sports federations and committees, sports and military sports clubs, and higher education institutions and those interested in sports training in the Sultanate.
The course includes many topics, including the mental and psychological dimensions of the player, the application of a mental and psychological readiness test before returning to training, the effect of discontinuation from training on the functions of the body systems, in addition to the basic principles of sports training.
