The General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asian adopted the constitution at the 43rd  meeting in Bangkok

Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) participated in the 43rd General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asian, which was held yesterday, Saturday, in the Thailand capital, Bangkok, with the participation of representatives from 45 Asian National Olympic Committees. OOC was represented at the meeting by Taha bin Sulaiman Al-Kishri, OOC Secretary-General, Saif bin Spaa Al-Rashidi, a member of the Board of Directors, and Mohammed Al-Rahbi, OOC Executive Director.

During the meeting, a series of constitutional reforms were voted on, aligning with the Olympic Charter of IOC while maintaining the independence and Asian characteristics of the Olympic Council of Asian. Thus, NOCs approved all amendments to the system in light of the presented proposals. Additionally, the Council honored several sports figures who have rendered distinguished services to Asian sports. Furthermore, praise was given during the meeting to the success of Hangzhou, China, in organizing the 19th Asian Games last year in 2023, distinguished in all aspects, and the organizing committee received recognition from the Olympic Council of Asian.

The meeting witnessed presentations from organizing committees for upcoming Asian sports events, as well as a review of the latest developments related to hosting the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games to be held in November of this year in Bangkok and Chonburi, and the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin, China, in February 2025, and the Asian Youth Games to be held in September 2025 in the Uzbek capital, Tashkent. In addition to the Asian Games to be hosted by Nagoya, Japan, in 2026. Before the end of the meeting, financial reports and the report of the financial auditors were reviewed, and all matters presented at the meeting were approved.”
