OOC General Assembly elects the Board of Directors (2020 + 1 – 2024)
The General Assembly of Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) will hold a regular meeting next Monday at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Al-Arfan to elect OOC board of directors for the electoral cycle (2020 + 1 – 2024) in the presence of members of Board of Directors, the General Assembly, candidates for membership of the Board for the next electoral cycle, the representative of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, as well as the representative of the International Olympic Committee and the Olympic Council of Asia, in addition to the election and appeal committees, and various media outlets.
The General Assembly will recommend Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Zubair for OOC presidency, and His Highness Sayyid Azzan bin Qais Al Saeed, for vice president. The members of Oman Olympic Committee that will also be recommended: Taha bin Sulaiman al-Kashiri as a member of an executive council for international sports Federations listed in the Olympic Games and Dr. Abdullah bin Khamis bin Ali Ambosaidi as a representative of sports federations with international sports listed In the Olympic Games, Qais bin Saud bin Hamad al-Zakani as a sport figure, Dr. Mansour bin Sultan Al-Taouki as representatives of athletes after he was elected by the Oman Athletics Committee at its first meeting this year held on Jan. 23.
The members of OOC Board of Directors (2020 + 1-2024) will also recommended candidates from sports federations of international sports federations listed in the Olympic Games: Saif bin Said bin Rashid Al-Rashidi, President of Oman Cycling Federation, and Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Saeed Bamakhl Chairman of Oman Table Tennis Federation, Eng. Khalfan bin Saleh bin Mohammed Al-Naabi, President of Oman Basketball Federation, and Dr. Marwan bin Juma bin Ali Al-Juma, President of Oman Hockey Federation, Eng. Ibrahim bin Abdullah bin Abdul Rahim Al Maqbali, President of Oman Volleyball Federation, and Mohsen Bin Hamad bin Ali Al Masrouri, Vice President of Oman Football Federation.
A representative from Women Sport will also be elected for the Board.
The meeting will also approve the last minutes of General Assembly held on 27 December 2021 and reviewing the report of the Board of Directors on its work for the past year, programs, activities and action plans for the next year, as well as discussing the auditor’s report and the approval of the final account for the fiscal year ended 2021.
The Board of Directors will hold immediately after the end of the electoral process to determine the basic positions complemented by the Board, the positions of the Secretary-General and the Treasurer, as well as the new Board will form the sub-committees, and discussing many priority topics during the coming period.
