OOC activates OOS platform

This morning, Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) organized a workshop at Oman Olympic Academy (OOA) during which Olympic Solidarity (OS) Platform was activated – as one of the programs approved during the new Olympic Solidarity Plan over the next four years. The workshop was chaired by Taha bin Sulaiman Al-Kishri, OOC Secretary General, in the presence of representatives of Sports Federations and Administration and Technical Executive Committees.

During the workshop, the new mechanism used to apply for OS programs for the next period 2021 to 2024 was introduced during the workshop, where all details related to the platform that aims to facilitate the procedures for claiming OS programs supported by International Olympic Committee (IOC), for which the next budget was supported by an increase of up to 16%.

The OS platform targets the Sports Federations at the present time and as a next step, the sports committees will be targeted and the beneficiaries can complete all the transactions related to OS programs electronically that allows them to complete the financial and technical reports through the platform.

OOC Secretary General, Taha bin Sulaiman Al-Kishri, gave a brief explanation in which he outlined the main objectives that OOC seeks to achieve through the use of this platform, which was to facilitate all procedures and expand the base for benefiting from OS programs, and it was also explained how to use the platform through the advantages and options available to representatives of Sports Federations and Committees so that they can use the platform in a flexible, streamlined and smooth manner.

A video clip prepared by International Olympic Solidarity was also reviewed, which clarified the general framework of the International Olympic Solidarity Plan by the next four years from 2021 to 2024, as well as many programs have been developed that will meet the needs of players, coaches and administrators, related to the activation of Olympic values. Through the video clip, International Olympic Solidarity emphasized the importance of adherence to good governance in the mechanism of action of Olympic solidarity programs and the settlement of related financial files. Worth mentioning noted that the platform initiative came as a result of the request of OOC for OS to activate it, in order to spread benefit in the OS programs, which during the last quarter plan were able to achieve many gains, which were represented in the implementation of rehabilitation programs for players, coaches and administrators.
