OOA organizes physiotherapy and rehabilitation of sports injuries course
Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation of Sports Injuries course organized by the Oman Olympic Academy “remotely” began today morning and will continue until Thursday. The course aims to spread the correct scientific and practical knowledge and contribute to the development of sport culture among specialists in the treatment of injuries in various sports, and to ensure the safety of athletes, after the increase in injuries in sports fields, whether through training, matches, or local and international competitions.
Dr. Saif bin Saeed Al Riyami – Senior Physiotherapist at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital, lectures in the course, with 29 attendees from Oman Olympic Committee, Federations, Sports Committees and Military Sports.
The course includes many topics including joint movement mechanics, articular movement mechanics in the spine, the causes of the most famous sports injuries in the Sultanate, first aid for the most serious injuries, and an explanation of the therapeutic rehabilitation program, in addition to muscle, tendon and cartilage injuries, modern treatment methods in sports injuries, research and recent experiences in dealing with injuries.
