Oman’s Beach Volleyball Team Advances to the Second Round with Victory over Japan, While Beach Soccer Faces China Today
Oman’s national beach volleyball team successfully qualified for the second round of the beach volleyball competition after defeating the Japanese team 2-0 in the third round of the Asian Beach Games currently being held in Sanya, China, from April 22 to 30. The set scores were 21-17 and 21-14. The remaining third-round matches ended with Iran defeating Syria 2-0, while Japan beat Bangladesh 2-0, Malaysia defeated Korea 2-0, Sri Lanka overcame Bhutan 2-0, China defeated Qatar 2-0, Saudi Arabia beat Macau 2-0, Qatar defeated Iran 2-0, Uzbekistan beat the Maldives 2-0, Kazakhstan defeated Mongolia 2-0, Indonesia beat Saudi Arabia 2-0, Timor defeated Palestine 2-0, Laos beat the Maldives 2-0, and Thailand defeated Lebanon 2-0. The national beach volleyball team is coached by Badr bin Saeed Al Subhi, with Abdullah bin Khalfan Al Alawi serving as team administrator, while the team consists of players Mazin bin Suleiman Al Hashmi and Hood bin Rashid Al Jalboubi. Oman Beach Football Team Defeats Palestine and Faces China Oman’s national beach football team opened its campaign in the sixth Asian Beach Games hosted by Sanya, China, from April 22 to 30, with a 7-2 victory over Palestine in the opening round match. Oman’s goals were scored by Muslim Al Arimi, Abdullah Al Salti, Abdulrahman Al Fazari (two goals), Khalid Al Arimi, Majid Al Affari, and Sami Al Balushi, while Palestine’s goals were scored by Ola Atiya and Bashir Mohammed. The remaining first-day matches ended with Iran defeating the UAE 5-2, while Saudi Arabia crushed Thailand 8-4. Oman’s national beach football team will face host nation China today, Sunday.
