Oman Olympic Committee Explores Opportunities for Cooperation in Joint Training Camps with Belarus
His Highness Sayyid Azzan bin Qais Al Said, President of the Oman Olympic Committee, received His Excellency Viktor Lukashenko, President of the Belarusian Olympic Committee, who is on an official visit to the Sultanate of Oman. During the meeting, the two sides held extensive discussions on ways to strengthen cooperation between the two Olympic Committees and explored mechanisms to further develop bilateral relations through the establishment of sustainable working programs that serve the interests of both parties. The meeting also addressed opportunities for partnership in athlete development, the organization of joint training camps in a number of Olympic sports, as well as the exchange of experts and coaches, and the organization of joint events aimed at raising the technical standards of national teams and enhancing the transfer of knowledge and expertise.
This visit comes within the framework of expanding the Oman Olympic Committee’s international cooperation, reinforcing its presence on the global sporting stage, and strengthening relations with various Olympic Committees in a manner that supports the development aspirations of the sports sector in the Sultanate of Oman. It also contributes to building strategic partnerships that support preparation programs, capacity building, and the enhancement of competitiveness at international events.
His Excellency the guest also toured the Omani Olympic Museum at the headquarters of the Oman Olympic Committee and sports federations in Al Ghubrah, where he was briefed on its sports and historical collections that reflect the journey of the Omani Olympic movement and the achievements of Omani athletes at various international events.
