Launch of the “Sports Events and Event Management” Course at the Oman Olympic Academy

This morning, the Oman Olympic Academy hosted the launch of the “Sports Events and Event Management” course, organized by the Oman Olympic Committee through the Academy. The course will run for three consecutive days and is presented by Dr. Mansour bin Sultan Al-Touqi, Advisor at the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth, with the participation of a group of administrators and staff from various sports institutions and organizations.

The course is part of the Oman Olympic Committee’s efforts to qualify and develop sports sector personnel, enhancing their skills in modern sports management, particularly in organizing sporting events and tournaments of all types and levels.

The training program covers several key areas, including the fundamental concepts of sports event management, planning and preparation mechanisms, administrative, technical, and media aspects of event organization, as well as methods for evaluating events and ensuring their sustainable success. The course also addresses the framework of sports events within the Olympic system, international organizational standards, and the classification of tournaments according to their scale and technical and organizational level.

Through this course, the Oman Olympic Academy aims to raise the efficiency of sports sector employees and enable them to acquire the practical experience and scientific knowledge necessary to manage sports events professionally and effectively, supporting efforts to advance the sports movement in the Sultanate of Oman.
