32  medals for Oman at GCC Youth Game

 

Omani athletic team concluded their participants with five medales in the final day of athletic competitions, while chess team snatched three medals on the second day of cheese competitions.

As part of GCC Youth Game hosted by UAE from April 16 to May 2. with the participation of about 3,500 male and female athletes competing in 24 individual and team games.

 

On Saturday athletic competitions, Kaltham al Jabri won the silver medale in shot put competitions, Moaayad Al Badri snatched the bronze medal in 400 race, Aza al Henaei claimed bronze medal in 200 meter race, Oman male  team snatched bronze medal in  medley relay race, and Omani girl won bronze in medley relay race.

 

Oman national chess team continued  their competition in the tournament, the competitions were hold  in the closed hall of the Sharjah Cultural Chess Club from April 18 to 23.

National chess player achieved three colorful medals, while girl team under-14   years snatched the silver medal. gilr team under-18 years also claimed bronze medal. Omani boys under-18 finished with bronze medal.

 

The sailing competitions conclude today after five days of competitions in different categories of Aptimus, IlKA4 and IlKA6 classes, the sailing games were  held on the waters of the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club from April 17 to 21.

Omani sailors compete for first places in various categories despite  difficult weather and unstable winds, during which the sailors competed in two races with the participation of sixteen sailors.

In the IlKA4 competition, Omani sailors achieved the first level in the race before final, as the competition witnesses the participation of eight sailors from all GCC countries.

In the ILKA competition, Omani sailor Elias takes first place in the race before final.

While national sailing team won gold medal on the first day of the team competitions.

 

Oman volleyball team lost their opening match against UAE, the competitions take place in Al Nassir Club hall in Dubai and will continue until April 25.

Oman team loss the half’s with score of a score of 15-25, 23-25, 16-25. Omani youth  tried to balance the match but the difference in physical structure, experience and preparation was in favor of the UAE team who dominated the match.

Kuwaiti Volleyball team also, lost its first to Bahrain team in three games with score of 17-25, 13-25, 15-25.

Oman team will meet Kuwaiti for second match on Sunday morning, and Saudia Arabia will take UAE.

 

 

Oman under-17 football team suffered to a shock 1-0 loss against Kuwait on Friday night at Al Nahyan Stadium in Al Wahda club in Abu Dhabi as part of the football competitions in the inaugural edition of the Gulf Youth Games. The national junior players excelled an outstanding technical performance but Kuwait’s Fawaz al Dawood snatch the winner in the 65th minute to deliver a crucial three points to his team to lead the table by six points from two games as they won Bahrain in the opening game. Oman remained in the three points following their triumph against the hosts UAE in the opener by 2-1. UAE thrashed Bahrain in an early match by 6-1. The victory meant, the hosts captured their first three points in the event.
