Oman bag six medals on third day

Oman’s athletes grabbed six colored medals in third day of the first Gulf Youth Games, which the UAE is hosting until next May 2, to rise Oman talyt 18 medals.
In paralympic competitions, Omani Champion Faisal al Balushi won two gold medals in the 200 meters in the morning and a silver in 100 meters in the evening, while omani girl Maryam al Badiah won a bronze medal in the 100 meters.
Abdullah alAnbari, Oman Parmalic coach,  expressed his overwhelming happiness, “The victory came despite the small numbers of preparing due to the climatic conditions, but our heroes achieved these medals to gift to the people of the Sultanate”.
On athletic competition, omani girl  Ghaya al Saadia, achieved first place andbthe gold medal with a time of 1 minute and 14 seconds in 400 race. Samer al yarebyah snatched the gold medal in 1500 race. Ahmed al jabri snatched bronze medal in 100 meter race.
The GCC delegations meeting was held in Dubai, in the presence of Nasser al Tamimi and Nabil Ashour, members of the Board of Directors of the UAE Olympic Committee and Organizing Committee for the youth Games. Kadhim al Balushi, Oman delegation manager, along with Hnaa al Battashia, Administrator of Oman delegation.
The meeting dealt with explaining all aspects related to technical, arbitration matters, location,competitions time, and logistical services to all athletes in the tournament.
Chess competition will  start today at the Sharjah Cultural and chees Club, and the badminton competition in the Zayed Sports Complex hall in Fujairah, in addition to the continuation of the sailing competitions at the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, and football with two matches, the first between UAE and Bahrain, and second  match between Kuwait and Oman at Al Nahyan Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Along with athletics competitions and paralympic at Officers Club in Dubai.
The badminton competitions will start today at the Zayed Sports Complex in Fujairah, with the participation of 5 teams: UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar competing in individual, team, doubles and mixed games.
Paralympic competitions will conclude today with  6 games for male and female categories, including the 100m race (chairs), shot put (sitting), shot put (standing), discus, 200m race (chairs), and 800m race (chairs).
85 athletes from 5 countries are participating in Parmalic competitions fromUAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, and Oman. The track competitions include 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 2000m, 100m (chairs), 200m (chairs), 800m (chairs) in addition to the field competitions (discus – javelin – shot put – high jump).
As for Saturday’s competitions, four competitions will be held, with volleyball joining the rest of the competitions that were launched previously, namely sailing, badminton, chess, and athletics.
