OOC participates in the regional Olympic Solidarity Forum

 

 

Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) participated in the regional forum for Olympic Solidarity organized by Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) in Riyadh during the period from 4-7 December, with the participation of representatives of 45 NOCs.

OOC was represented in the forum by Counselor Salim bin Muhammad Al Busaidi, Chef de Mission for the 19th Asian Games (China 2023), and Hana bint Saeed Al Battashiya, Head of Coordination and Following-up department.

The forum included a review of reports on the latest developments related to the upcoming Asian Games, and an online presentation on the developments of the Summer Olympic Games (Paris 2024) by the Organizing Committee. The Olympic Solidarity Committee of the International Olympic Committee also made a presentation regarding the support that will be provided to the Asian Olympic Committees organizing the sessions in the administrative, technical and logistic fields. The forum also witnessed a joint presentation by OCA and International Olympic Solidarity on the continental program of the Olympic Solidarity for development, the list of available projects and the budget allocated for the program.

 

The Organizing Committee for the 19th Asian Games, which will be held in China from September 23 to October 8, 2023, revealed the latest developments related to hosting the tournament to representatives of the Olympic committees, as 54 facilities were used for the tournament in 6 cities, and that 31 independent stadiums for training were put into service. After the decision to postpone the tournament from 2022 to next year, the tournament will include 40 sports and 61 competitions. The Organizing Committee also provided an overview of the latest data related to entry cards, transportation, accommodation, media, broadcasting services, services for NOCs, the Athletes’ Village, the sports program and the competition schedule.

 

The Organizing Committee of the 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games presented its latest preparations to host the event, which will be held in the Thai capital, Bangkok and Chonburi, from November 17-26, 2023.

The committee revealed that the tournament will witness competitions in 35 sports, as well as two spectacle sports, with a total of 334 events, 123 of which are in Bangkok distributed over 13 facilities, and 211 events in 9 facilities in Chonburi district in Pattaya, and the registration process for athletes will start from April 4 and continue until July 4, 2023.
