Education, Culture, and Olympic Heritage Committee
Chairman of the Committee: Eng. Khalfan bin Saleh Al-Naabi
Responsibilities and Duties of the Committee:
1. Advising the Board on all Olympic movement activities related to education and Olympic culture, including art, history, academic research, and heritage collections. This includes presenting an implementation plan to promote Olympic culture widely across various states and governorates of Oman.
2. Developing a cultural work plan for Oman Olympic Committee, submitting it for board approval, and overseeing its implementation.
3. Establishing connections and enhancing coordination between Oman Olympic Committee and various institutions and entities concerned with cultural affairs to promote Olympic culture, including relevant ministries, national and international research centers, museums, and cultural departments within International Olympic Committee.
4. Exploring ways to enhance the cultural activities of the Omani Olympic movement.
5. Coordinating with relevant government bodies and universities to develop physical education and sports curricula, integrating sports and Olympic values into school programs.
6. Encouraging scientific research, authorship, translation, and the publication of specialized journals in the field of sports and Olympic culture.
7. Promoting Olympic values through various communication channels and highlighting the importance of sports and physical activity in youth development and education.
8. Implementing a program to educate teachers and educators about Olympic values and life skills.
9. Undertaking any other tasks related to the committee’s responsibilities as assigned by the Board of Directors of Oman Olympic Committee.
10. The committee may seek assistance from suitable individuals to ensure the success of its work.
