High-Performance Sports and Olympic Planning Committee

Roles and Responsibilities of the Committee:
1. Contributing to the development of the national plan for high-performance sports.
2. Establishing a classification system for high-performance athletes, including criteria for grants received from Olympic solidarity.
3. Preparing and updating the roster of athletes classified as high-performance.
4. Proposing and establishing academic and technical criteria for external scholarships for athletes, coordinating with relevant governmental bodies, the private sector, and sports associations.
5. Proposing contract models for programs and objectives with relevant sports entities, establishing a working mechanism for coordination regarding classified high-performance athletes.
6. Conducting comprehensive studies to identify target sports where Omani athletes can excel, based on research outcomes, and proposing supporting plans and programs.
7. Developing and monitoring the “Olympic Champion” project, ensuring the necessary resources for its success.
8. Implementing social and academic follow-up programs for high-performance athletes in coordination with relevant authorities.
9. Proposing a financial incentive system for high-performance athletes in collaboration with concerned parties.
10. Coordinating with the private sector to secure sponsorships for high-performance athletes.
11. Forming a “Foreign Participation” task force and other teams as needed to fulfill its responsibilities and achieve its goals, with their formation and mandates submitted to the board for approval.
12. Undertaking any other tasks related to the committee’s responsibilities as assigned by Oman Olympic Committee Board.
13. The committee may seek assistance from appropriate individuals to ensure the success of its work.
