Beach Volleyball Team Continues Its Brilliance and Reaches the Quarterfinals with Victory over Kazakhstan

Oman’s national beach volleyball team advanced to the quarterfinals of the 6th Asian Beach Games, currently taking place in Sanya, China, from April 22 to 30, after securing a 2-0 victory over Kazakhstan in the Round of 16 of the beach volleyball competition.

The match ended with set scores of 21-15 and 21-19 in favor of Oman. The national team will now face Iran on Monday at 10:00 a.m. in the quarterfinals.

In other matches, Iran defeated Japan 2-0, Indonesia also overcame Japan 2-0, while Thailand secured a 2-0 victory over Saudi Arabia.

The national beach volleyball team is coached by Badr bin Saeed Al-Subhi, with Abdullah bin Khalfan Al-Alawi serving as team administrator. The team consists of players Mazen bin Suleiman Al-Hashmi and Hood bin Rashid Al-Jalboubi.

Beach Handball Team Defeats Bangladesh and Jordan

Meanwhile, Oman’s national beach handball team achieved two important victories on Sunday in the fourth round of the beach handball competition at the 6th Asian Beach Games in Sanya, China.

The team first defeated Bangladesh 2-0 before securing another 2-0 win against Jordan later in the same round.

Oman will next face Pakistan on Monday.

Earlier in the tournament, Oman had opened its campaign with a 2-0 win over Mongolia, before suffering a 0-2 defeat to Qatar, followed by another 0-2 loss against Thailand in the second round.

Other results on Sunday saw Iran defeat Hong Kong 2-0, China overcome Thailand 2-0, Qatar beat Thailand 2-0, and Iran also defeated Bahrain 2-0.

The national beach handball team is coached by Hamoud bin Salem Al-Hassani, with Jaber bin Yaqoub Al-Balushi as assistant coach, Saeed bin Ali Al-Housni as team manager, Talib bin Afandi Al-Balushi as administrator, and Hossam El-Din Adly as physiotherapist.

The squad includes Yasser bin Saeed Al-Harthy, Mahdi bin Salem Al-Sulaimani, Huzaifa bin Suwaid Al-Siyabi, Bashar bin Yaqoub Al-Hinai, Saeed bin Issa Al-Hassani, Ali bin Salem Al-Jamii, Muhannad bin Saeed Al-Zarafi, Abdulhakim bin Abdullah Al-Siyabi, Asaad bin Saeed Al-Hassani, and Saeed bin Hamad Al-Hassani.

Athletics Team Exits the Games Without Medals

Oman’s national athletics team concluded its participation in the 6th Asian Beach Games without winning any medals.

On the final day of the athletics competition, national athlete Alia Al-Mughairi finished in joint sixth place in the women’s long jump event, falling short of the expected performance.

Uzbekistan’s Seifulaeva Barnokhon claimed first place, while China’s He Linbing finished second and China’s Shao Yuqi secured third place.

Meanwhile, Oman’s relay team, consisting of Fatek Adnan, Salem Al-Ya’arbi, Mohammed Al-Saadi, and Rashid Al-Asmi, finished fourth and last in the final relay race.

China claimed first place with Huang Yousha, Li Mengyuan, Wang Xinkai, and Ailekouti Bishaki. Thailand finished second with Proksor Anan, Yamudom Ntawat, Dab Pang, and Ponson Porpiol, while Sri Lanka secured third place through Nishanka M.P., Diyala Watha, Thanthrij Don, and Warnako Lasuriya.

Oman’s athletics delegation included Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Houti as sprint coach, Imad Siraj as jumps coach, and Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Jabri as administrator.

The athletics team included Rashid bin Huwaishil Al-Asmi, Fatek bin Adnan Bait Qaisan, Mohammed bin Obeid Al-Saadi, Numeir bin Mohammed Al-Busaidi, Salem bin Saleh Al-Ya’arbi, Azza bint Sultan Al-Ya’arbi, and Alia bint Faeq Al-Mughairi.
