OOC participates in meetings of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation and the Union of Arab National Olympic Committees in Riyadh
Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) took part in the 23rd General Assembly of the Union of Arab National Olympic Committees, held last Saturday in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. OOC was represented at the meeting by Abdullah bin Mohammed Bamkhalaf, Secretary-General, and Moosa bin Khamis Al Balushi, Board Member.
During the meeting, His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal was elected by acclamation as President of the Union for the 2025–2029 term. Mohamed bin Youssef Al-Manea was elected Vice President representing Asia, and Mahrez bin Al-Tayeb Boudayen as Vice President representing Africa.
The Assembly also approved the host countries for the Arab Sports Games in 2027 and 2031, endorsing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s request—coordinated with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia—to host the 18th Arab Sports Games in 2027, while the 19th edition will be hosted by Saudi Arabia in 2031.
The meeting further included the appointment of Executive Board members, approval of the financial statements, and review of the financial report for the year ending December 2024.
Separately, Abdullah bin Mohammed Bamkhalaf, OOC Secretary-General, and Moosa bin Khamis Al Balushi, Board Member, participated in the 14th General Assembly of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF), held in Riyadh alongside the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games.
The meeting included the approval of the Federation’s administrative and financial reports for the current year, discussions on the latest developments related to the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games (Riyadh 2025), and a review of reports submitted by the specialized committees.
The Assembly also decided to award the hosting rights of the 7th Islamic Solidarity Games to Malaysia in 2029, approved the proposed amendments to the Federation’s statutes and the Board of Directors’ charter, and ratified the financial reports for the previous year.
