OOC Participates in the 45th General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia

 

The Oman Olympic Committee took part in the 45th General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia, held over two days in Kuwait. The Omani delegation included His Excellency Dr. Sultan bin Ya’arub Al Busaidi, Chairman of the Medical Committee of the Olympic Council of Asia; Abdullah bin Mohammed Bamakhalef, Secretary-General of the Oman Olympic Committee; and Engineer Khalfan bin Saleh Al Naabi, Member of the Board of Directors.

The assembly addressed a range of key topics focused on the development of Olympic sports across Asia, including enhancing cooperation among National Olympic Committees, improving sports infrastructure in the region, and promoting greater participation of Asian athletes in international Olympic events. The discussions also emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships between the Olympic Council of Asia and other regional and international sports organizations.

Ahead of the main assembly, an official opening ceremony was held at the Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmad Cultural Center in Kuwait. The event was attended by prominent figures from the Asian and global sports communities and featured a variety of cultural and artistic performances celebrating the rich diversity of the Asian continent.
