Inauguration of the Omani Olympic Museum at the Oman Olympic Committee Headquarters
In continuation of ongoing efforts to promote Olympic culture and enhance the presence of Omani sports nationally and internationally, the Omani Olympic Museum was inaugurated yesterday evening, Sunday, at the headquarters of the Oman Olympic Committee and sports federations in Al Ghubra. The event was held under the patronage of His Highness Dr. Adham bin Turki Al Said, and was attended by various sports figures, athletes, and local media representatives. This marks a significant step in the efforts of the Oman Olympic Committee to highlight and document the Omani sports scene in coordination with relevant entities.
The Omani Olympic Museum represents a qualitative addition to the national sports scene, combining documentation with interactive experiences. The museum features several specialized sections designed to cater to various interests, including a history of the international Olympic movement, displays of Olympic torches as iconic symbols, a section showcasing the collections of the Oman Olympic Committee, and a dedicated area highlighting the role of Omani women in sports with shining examples of female contribution. Other sections illuminate Paralympic sports and offer visual presentations capturing exceptional moments in Olympic history. Additionally, a souvenir gift shop will offer products associated with the Olympic identity.
