Oman Women’s Sports and Gender Equality Committee
Chairwoman of the Committee: Sayyiday Sana’a bint Hamad Al-Busaidi
Responsibilities and Duties of the Committee:
1. Developing the committee’s strategy for promoting women’s sports in coordination with relevant institutions, organizations, federations, and sports clubs.
2. Enhancing women’s representation in various decision-making positions within Olympic Committee, associations, and sports clubs, aiming to achieve internationally recognized benchmarks in this area.
3. Raising awareness and encouraging women’s participation in sports, integrating it into public life, and strengthening its connection with the community through various media channels.
4. Proposing seminars and training courses to prepare and refine female sports personnel in administrative and technical aspects in collaboration with relevant entities.
5. Cooperating and coordinating with government bodies to activate women’s sports activities and events.
6. Collaborating with women’s sports committees within Olympic Council of Asian, the International Olympic Committee, and other continental and international women’s sports organizations to enhance the level of women’s sports activities.
7. Coordinating with federations and sports committees in the Sultanate to implement programs for preparing women’s teams for international competitions.
8. Organizing and hosting women’s sports festivals in various governorates and creating attractive methods and mechanisms to encourage women to engage in sports.
9. Coordinating with relevant authorities to ensure that facilities, stadiums, and other sports amenities are adapted to meet the specific needs of women in society.
10. Undertaking any other tasks related to the committee’s responsibilities as assigned by the Board of Directors of Oman Olympic Committee.
11. The committee may seek assistance from suitable individuals to ensure the success of its work.
