OOC Executive Office holds its 3rd meeting this year
The Executive Office of Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) held its 3rd meeting for this year yesterday morning, Tuesday, headed by Khalid bin Muhammad Al-Zubair, OOC Chairman. Many important topics on the meeting’s agenda were reviewed, most notably the approval of Oman delegation that will participate, in the 33rd Summer Olympic Games (Paris 2024), which will be held during the period from July 26 to August 11. The attendees also reviewed the list of teams that She expressed her desire to participate in the 6th Asian Indoor Games scheduled to be held in Thailand from 21 to 30 November.
A statement was reviewed of the financial and logistical allocations and requirements for international participations that fall under the umbrella of OOC this year, which included the 1st GCC Youth Games held in the United Arab Emirates last April of this year, and the 33rd Summer Olympic Games (Paris 2024). And the Asian Indoor Games in Thailand.
The latest developments regarding Oman’s hosting of the 3rd GCC Beach Games, scheduled to be held next year 2025, were also discussed, with the participation of all GCC NOCs. The tournament will have a very positive impact on the plans for preparing the GCC national teams, as this tournament represents an important step in preparing for the continental and international competitions for the Beach Games that will be held in the last quarter of 2025.
With regard to the upcoming internal dues, the attendees discussed the preparatory procedures and the approximate calendar for holding the general electoral assembly meeting of OOC for the next electoral cycle (2025-2028), and the required procedures in this regard, and agreed to submit the issue for presentation to the next Board of Directors meeting for approval, as was done. Discussing the project to activate OOC Olympic Museum and the most important steps that will be taken to implement it in a way that is consistent with the vision and objectives of the committee.
The members reviewed the invitations received by OOC, which included an invitation to attend the 44th OCA electoral general assembly, which will be held in Delhi, India, on September 8, 2024, in addition to the regular meeting of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC), which will be held in Portugal during the period from September 29. October until November 1, and the necessary recommendations have been made.
The minutes of the auxiliary committees of the Board of Directors, represented by Oman Athletes Committee, Oman Anti-Doping Committee, and Oman Sports and Active Society Committee, were also reviewed. The attendees took note of the programs and work they contained and recommended that the office work to implement various events and activities during this year.
The 3rd OOC executive office meeting concluded with a discussion of many topics that were included in the new business item, and the necessary recommendations and decisions were taken regarding them.
