Today.. the conclusion of the national coach certification program with the participation of 24 coaches

 

As part of the efforts of Oman Olympic Committee (OOC), represented by Oman Olympic Academy (OOA), to create a national knowledge to prepare and qualify Omani coaches in accordance with the best international practices and experiences. The 1st level of the National Coach Certification Program (NCCP), which was organized by OOA for 5 continuous days at its headquarters, concludes this evening, Thursday. The program aimed to develop the scientific and practical skills and knowledge of the participants, and provide them with the necessary tools to provide effective and sustainable training experiences in various disciplines and sports.
The program included a group of theoretical lectures and practical applications, with the aim of qualifying national coaches to keep pace with global developments in sports training sciences, which was supervised by Dr. Shihab Al-Din bin Ahmed Al-Riyami, Director of the National Coach Certification Program; He touched on preliminary games in sports, preparation and physical training, warm-up and cool-down, the science of sports training, time planning for training, in addition to sports anatomy, sports representation and muscular strength. He also touched on the coach, psychological preparation and mental adaptation, his tasks and duties, and common injuries in the sports field. It focused on strengthening the theoretical and scientific aspects and foundations in the field of sports training, developing evaluation and analysis skills, using technology in analyzing performance and developing training programs, and improving communication and communication skills with athletes and teams.
A number of 24 coaches from various sports sectors in Oman participated in the program, including sports federations, committees and clubs, the Ministry of Education, Royal Court Affairs, and military sports.
The importance of the program comes as it is one of the tributaries of supporting and developing qualified sports coaches in the sports field for all sports. The program aims to support, qualify and develop their abilities to keep pace with everything new in sports training at the global level under the supervision of international lecturers and experts in sports sciences. It is also an essential tributary to the sector. The athlete and an investment in the qualified national cadre in the training field as it is the basic knowledge base for the national coach and his qualification before engaging in specialized international courses from international and regional federations.
It is worth noting that the National Coach Certification Program is the 1st of its kind in Oman and the second in GCC, and it relies on a methodology that balances theoretical and scientific aspects, based on the latest successful international experiences, and is divided into two main levels in addition to the specialized seminars accompanying the program.
