OOC participation in Olympic Games and the results achieved

The Olympic Games is a global sport event that began in 1896 and includes the summer and winter games. The Olympic Movement includes international sports federations and national Olympic committees.
The first participation of Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) in the Olympic Games was in the Olympic Games (Los Angeles) in 1984 and continued until Tokyo 2020 Games, where the number of tournaments in which the Sultanate participated reached (10) Olympic tournaments with the size of participation differing from one session to another according to the technical level of the games on the one hand, and amending the rules and regulations of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). On the other hand, where conditions, qualification criteria, technical levels and standard numbers were set by international federations since the early nineties of the last century; It is no longer allowed to participate for those who wish, but for those who meet the qualifying criterion or obtain support cards in some competitions for National Olympic Committees that were not able to achieve the qualifying criterion.
At the level of the games, athletics and shooting have participated in 10 Olympic Games, and swimming in 4 Olympic Games, while sailing, boxing, cycling and weightlifting have participated in one Olympic Games.
The Sultanate’s largest participation was in Olympic Games, Los Angeles 1984; The number of athletes reached (16), noting that the qualification criterion was not applied at the time in the current form. The Sultanate’s lowest participation was in Olympic Games Athens 2004, where only two athletes participated.
The first female participation of the Sultanate was in Olympic Games Beijing 2008; As for the number of games that represented the Sultanate in one Olympic Games, it was in Olympic Games Atlanta 1996, with the participation of 4 sports: athletics, shooting, swimming, cycling, and Beijing 2020 with the participation of 4 sports in athletics, swimming, archery, and weightlifting.
The number of Omani athletes who participated in the Olympic Games reached 57.
