First Beach World Games- Qatar (12-16 October 2019)
Participation in the First Beach World Games is considered one of the main annual goals for the year 2019 for OOC and in implementing the long-term strategic plan 2024. In light of this, several organizational, administrative and technical procedures were taken to achieve a qualitative and effective participation of the national teams to achieve the basic intermediate goals shared between Oman Olympic Committee and Sports Associations.
The regulations for participation depend on the qualification system according to the allocated quota to each continent or the world rankings. Beach national handball team was able to qualify by gaining the first place in the Asian Championship, and its qualification for this event is considered an achievement in itself as competed with world elite teams (Brazil, Sweden, USA, Australia, Denmark).
Swimming national team participation was via the swimmer Ayman Al Qasimi as participated in the 5 km race with the best swimmers from Germany, Russia, Italy, Brazil, Poland, Spain, Portugal, Australia, Mexico, Hungary, Austria, Serbia and Czech. Al Qasimi competed strongly and achieved a new record for him in this race.
